Bienvenidos a Indiana

In Indiana, Telamon Corporation is known as Transition Resources Corporation (TRC). This is due to the fact that when Telamon Corporation first came to Indiana, a for-profit firm was already incorporated under the Telamon name. TRC has been the provider of employment and training services to migrant and seasonal farm workers in Indiana since 1987, and more recently has expanded services to the general population in the North Central region. For more information about our locations or details of the programs briefly described below, contact our offices.

National Farmworker Jobs Program

TRC provides employment and training services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents through the NFJP, which is part of the Workforce Investment Act. Eligible seasonal farmworkers (See Eligibility Criteria) can receive assistance that helps them get through emergency situations, or to upgrade educational or occupational skills that improve employment prospects and self-sufficiency. Our Case Managers are bilingual in English/Spanish, and located in several areas throughout the state. A required partner in the state's provision of Workforce Investment Act services, TRC offices are co-located with various One-Stop centers where both job seekers and employers can request employment related assistance.

TRC's Pesticide and Workplace Safety Trainer is located in the Indianapolis office, but travels throughout the state providing free pesticide safety and CPR/First Aid training to farmworkers. The Pesticide and Workplace Safety Trainer is bilingual (English/Spanish) and provides most training to farmworkers in Spanish. The trainer uses Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved materials during the training and provides EPA certification to those trained.

NFJP Youth Programs

The Transition Resources program for youth provides services to youth that travel with their families to Indiana for farmwork. Youth are assisted in attaining basic skills, receiving high school course credit, receiving secondary school diploma or equivalent, or placement and retention in post secondary education, advanced training, military service, employment or qualified apprenticeships. TRC's goal is to improve the accessibility and quality of educational opportunities, employment skills, and life enhancement activities for the benefit of migrant and seasonal farmworker youth and their families.

Our youth services emphasize dropout prevention, completion of high school or its equivalent and preparation for the world of work. With these goals in mind, we offer a monetary allowance to eligible youth while they are in the classroom. In this manner, youth are able to earn credits instead of working in the fields, but can still contribute to the family income. Additionally, counseling, tutoring, leadership skills development, career inventories and educational field trips are available to assist participants in exploring the possibilities and observing a variety of work settings.

Adult & Dislocated Worker Program

A member of the One-Stop Operator Consortium in the North Central Workforce Service Area (WSA), TRC is the fiscal and administrative agent for the Adult and Dislocated Worker services program funded under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). We also receive funding for Rapid Response, Welfare-to-Work, Youth, Information Resource Area and Individual Training Account Demonstration Project. In the Northern Indiana and Madison-Grant WSA's we are a part of the Operator Consortiums, but are not the administrator of funds.

Our service area includes Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Tipton and Wabash counties.

Adult Program

Services include assistance to individuals over 18 years of age with career assessment and counseling, job search assistance, resume preparation, short-term training, job placement assistance and follow-up.

Dislocated Worker Program

Those who have lost their jobs due to permanent closing or layoff from industries considered to be declining in the local area can avail themselves of these services. The program goal is to assist dislocated workers in getting re-employment at a self-sufficient wage as soon as possible.

Youth Programs

These WIA services are targeted to out-of-school youth in the north central area, ages 18-21 years of age. They are designed to assist youth that need to pass the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress (ISTEP) test to obtain their high school diploma, to gain work skills and experience, and receive vocational training.
