Welcome To Alabama

Telamon Corporation began providing services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in Alabama commonly referred to as the 'the Heart of Dixie' in 2003!

Telamon Corporation is the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) operator. This program provides employment, training, and supportive services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents through funding provided by the Department of Labor in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Workforce Investment Act. Services are provided out of four offices located throughout the state in areas with high concentrations of farmworkers. Eligible farmworkers may receive help for emergency situations, occupational skill training, remedial education, English as a Second Language training, and help with securing year-round, stable employment both in and out of agriculture. (see eligibility criteria)

Farmworkers are able to come into the field office locations seeking services in order to fulfill a wide variety of needs or are identified through a variety of outreach techniques. The customers targeted for program services are farmworkers, and their dependents, who seek assistance in stabilizing agricultural employment or in upgrading their educational and job skills in preparation for non agricultural job opportunities. In addition to supportive services, we offer opportunities to attain school or occupational credentials that increase one's labor market potential. Through agreements with training institutions, private employers and other community resource partners, qualifying program participants can work toward and achieve their employment objectives.

As a new operator in Alabama, Telamon staff are eager to identify potential farmworker customers as well as the development of a vast network of linkages to ensure the successful delivery of program services. Employment and training activities are administered out of three field offices found throughout the state from northern most office in Decatur (located in the Decatur Career Center), to our Enterprise location (located in the Enterprise Career Center), and in the southern most location found in Mobile (located in the Mobile Career Center). All program activities are coordinated by the state office that is located in the capitol city of Montgomery. As a partner of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) delivery system, the One-Stop System, access of core services are made available to all customers seeking services.
